Brazil is also vulnerable to monkeypox.

Monkeypox is also spreading rapidly amid the corona virus epidemic. Brazil's state news service Agáncia Brasil on Sunday confirmed 76 cases of monkeypox nationwide, while CNN reported 78 cases as the disease began to spread across the country.

Monkeypox was first discovered in 1958 

after two outbreaks of a smallpox-like disease in colonies of monkeys kept for research, hence the name 'monkeypox'. The first human case of monkeypox was reported in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has given ways to avoid monkeypox.


Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, swollen lymph glands, chills, and tiredness. Within 1 to 3 days of fever, the patient develops a rash, which often begins on the face and then spreads to other parts of the body.


Brazil is also vulnerable to monkeypox.

Meanwhile, Rio's Health Secretariat reported that as of last Friday, there were 39 suspected cases of the disease in the state, of which 13 were confirmed, nine patients in the city of Rio, including one from London, England. .


Other cases in the state of Rio de Janeiro were one in Marica, one in Nova Iguaçu, one in Queimados (residents from Portugal), and one in Niteroi, in the Rio metropolitan area, (one from England). Six other cases were under investigation while 20 were dismissed.


According to CNN-Brasil, Sao Paulo was the state with the most number of confirmed cases (53), while Rio Grande do Sul (2), Minas Gerais (2), Serra (2), Brasilia also had confirmed cases. 1), Paraná (1), and Rio Grande do Norte (1), while 29 suspected cases are under investigation.
